This is part 3 of how to set up a Google Plus account for your business. If you haven’t seen parts 1 or 2 then check them out first.
This was where we left off in part 2. As you will notice the cover image has been filled in for us by a generic black and green bubble design. In most circumstances you will want to change this. You can use any image you wish here as long as you have permission and you are not infringing on any copyright images. Obviously the image needs to be tasteful too. If you decide to upload an image of a photo you have taken, Google Plus allows you to resize it so that it will fit and therefore you do not need to manually resize yourself using a third part software program.
If you have decided to create your own cover image, which I highly suggest you do then the dimensions need to be 940×180 pixels. I must point out here that your profile image overlaps the cover photo and starts at 625pixels into the cover. So bare this in mind when designing your cover.
To upload your new cover design simply hover over the cover and the option ‘Change Cover Photo’ will appear. Simply click that. A new pop up will appear. The first option you have here is template. You can upload several images in a line or choose the one big cover image which I have done here. Click ‘Change Cover Photo’ again.
Another pop up appears and allows you to either drag an image directly into the frame or you can choose the blue button entitled ‘Select a photo from your computer’. Once you have uploaded your image you will either have to select the blue ‘Save’ button or not depending on how you chose to upload your image.
You can now have one final review to make sure the image appears as you expected. Once you are satisfied you simply click on the blue ‘Ok’ button.
You will now be taken back to the profile tab where you can drool over your amazing work. When you are finished editing simply click on the grey ‘Finished Editing’ button at the top.
In part 4 we will be going into finding people and businesses to follow, hashtags and more. Check back often or sign up here to be notified by email.
