If you have a website then chances are you will want to know how to create a simple facebook like button to put on that website. It is a good idea to add facebook like buttons and other social media buttons such as the Google plus one button.
Lets Get Started With A Simple Facebook Like Button
To create a simple facebook like button simply head to the facebook developer social plugin like page here.
Simply fill in the URL of either your website that you want people to like or your actual facebook page. You can choose to include a send button. If you choose the send button you will only be able to implement the HTML5 or XFBML versions. There is an iFrame version also.
Choose your layout style. I wanted a simple facebook like button so I left the layout style at its default setting of standard. You can choose the width of the like button. I unchecked the show faces box.
You can change the verb to either like or recommend. If you want a like button then leave it as like. Depending on your website colour scheme you have the choice of a light colour scheme or dark.
Your last option is what font do you want? I left it at the default setting. You should now be ready to get your code! Click on the ‘Get Code’ button.
Once you click the ‘Get Code’ button a pop up should appear. You now have three choices. HTML5, XFBML and iFrame. To keep things easy and simple, choose the iFrame option.
The code will display for you. Copy this code and paste it in a text document for later. What you need to do is paste this code on your webpage in the exact spot you want it to display.
